Street names are getting empowered in King’s Cross

Mary Wollstonecraft

The author and pioneering women’s rights campaigner Mary Wollstonecraft is to have a road named after her in King’s Cross. The name was chosen from a shortlist of 30 and there are 19 roads still to be christened (Janet Street-Porter Street, anyone?). It’s all a bit of a mouthful though, innit? Imagine burbling ‘Wollstonecraft Street, mate’ at a cab driver after a skinful. You’d end up in Walsall. And, God knows, no one wants that.
