New start-up Chicken Town is hoping to crowdfund enough cash to bring finger-licking good chicken to Tottenham, minus the mind-blowing calorie count. The idea behind the Kickstarter campaign is to bring training, jobs and healthier eating to the north London area through the medium of delicious takeaway.
Its fried chicken is cooked in healthy oils, so promises to pack just 30 percent of the calories that are in the regular takeaway version. And, to make your fast food even more saintly, there’s no chips on the menu – instead you can choose from sides including coconut rice, veg mash and slaw.
They’re also doing something for the kids – the ‘junior special’ for hungry school children will sell at cost price (that’s just £2).
If you want to help them reach their £50,000 funding goal in time for the planned September opening, head here to throw some money in the frier. Funding closes on April 23.
