Punchdrunk’s epic immersive show ‘The Drowned Man: A Hollywood Fable’ was, among a lot else, a rich, seductive triumph of design. The beautifully crafted details – crunching fallen leaves, aged notebooks, cracked mirrors and dusty trinkets – were a big part of what made the show so incredibly atmospheric.
Photographer Julian Abrams has managed to capture a little of that magic in a new book due to be released in June to mark the anniversary of the show. ‘The Drowned Man: A Hollywood Fable’ is a collection of 130 beautiful images from the show in the final few months of the run. It looks as though it’ll be a smart memento of an extraordinary show. Head here to pre-order yourself a copy of the £49 book.
