‘I often pass through King’s Cross on the way home, so it’s a perfect location for me. There’s a great selection of stalls, and as with other food markets, the vendors are proud of their produce, so they’re keen to share their knowledge, tastes and recipes.’

In my basket: ‘I don’t eat wheat, so macaroons from Belinda’s Kitchen are a fantastic treat. Bad Brownie sells delicious gluten-free salted-caramel brownies. If friends are coming round, I buy bread from The Flour Station. Pies and scotch eggs from Hogs & Hens are perfect for lunch or as part of a picnic. I love beetroot juice, and I made beetroot, apple and ginger sorbet last year with veg from Ted’s Veg. Iberico Spicy Chorizo by Black Acorn is delicious as a snack, and is fantastic cooked in a risotto with butternut squash.’

King’s Cross Square, N1 9AP. Wed-Fri noon-7pm.
