The braid is shaping up to be the style of the season. We’ve noticed loads of plaiting pop-ups appearing at events around the capital since the start of the year, and there’s lots to like about the resurgence of this old school ‘do – it’s cheaper than a fancy dye job, less traumatising than a statement bob and ever so Instagram friendly.
For the latest chance to jump on the braiding bandwagon, head to Boxpark today between 11am and 6pm. Following successful stints at Selfridges and Sketch earlier this year, the Braid Bar are bringing their mobile salon to Boxpark for one day only. They’ll be offering a menu of 12 styles, each named after a well-coiffed famous lady. For an angelic halo braid, ask for the ‘Claudia’, or if you’re going for a real statement, go for the ‘Bey’ twisted corn rows.
Prices range from £10 to £25, and you can customise your braid with hair rings, charms, chalk and glitter. It’s the stuff that ’90s dreams were made of. To book an appointment, email firstname.lastname@example.org.
