Benedict Cumberbatch

Would you like to make Benedict Cumberbatch very, very happy? We know you would, and the best way of keeping a smile on the face of the ‘Sherlock’ actor is to head to the Phoenix Cinema in East Finchley – one of London’s oldest cinemas and one of its few genuinely independent screens. Cumberbaps lives near this lovely cinema and he has just been made a patron of the not-for-profit venue, meaning he’ll officially be banging the drum for the Phoenix alongside the likes of Ken Loach, Victoria Wood and Mark Kermode. The venue tells us that Cumberflaps will be doing everything he can to support the place whenever he’s in London: he’ll attend special events, introduce screenings and take part in Q&As. So, if you want to please old Cumberbits, you know what to do…

To explore what’s showing at the Phoenix, East Finchley and to discover how to become a Friend of the venue, go here.
