If you want the full Record Day Store experience…
head to Berwick Street

As in previous years, Soho’s Berwick Street will be transformed into a mini-festival for what’s arguably the flagship Record Store Day event in London. Six acts including John Cooper Clarke, DJ Yoda and Young Knives play live from noon to 6pm, compèred by BBC 6 Music’s Shaun Keaveny. Plus, local record shops – Sister Ray, Phonica, Music and Video Exchange, Reckless Records and Sounds of the Universe – will be selling limited-editions vinyls and CDs. W1F 0PH

If you want primetime beats and rhymes...
head to Deal Real Legacy Pop-Up

Formerly an essential hub for hip hop vinyl and live performances during its Carnaby Street tenure in 2002 to 2007 (Kanye, Mos Def and Amy Winehouse all performed there), Deal Real returns for a temporary stint, beginning on Record Store Day. Grime stars Kano, Ghetts and Novelist perform live on the day, and there’ll be workshops, fashion showcases and a photo exhibition. 14 Newburgh St, W1F 7RT

If you want to see where it all began…
head to Record Shops of Soho 1946-1996

The British Record Shop Archive and the Museum of Soho have organised a free pop-up exhibition tracing the history of record retail in Soho over the decades. It’s free and open until April 20, 10am-7pm. 2 Berwick St, W1F 0DR

If you want to grab limited-edition vinyl away form the hordes…
head to Casbah Records

This intimate but excellently stocked independent record shop in Greenwich will be selling an ear-watering amount of exclusive Record Store Day releases.  Fuzzed-out retro psychedelic rockers The Sonic Jewels will be playing live from 3pm and there’ll be competitions for customers. Next door to Casbah is Retrobates, a vintage clothing and record player shop, so you can kit yourself out and buy something to play your new vinyl on. 320-322 Creek Rd, SE10 9SW

If you want to rave your way through Record Store Day…
head to
Vinyl Pimp

The Hackney Wick vinyl outlet hosts another killer RSD party from 10am to 8pm. DMX Krew, Krystal Klear, Bambooman and more spin banging beats and basslines from the shop as punters dance both inside and out on the street. 14 Felstead St, E9 5LT
