Marathon runners get a unique view of London’s streets. While huffing and puffing through the city, they get to absorb the capital – from Greenwich to the Mall – from ground level.
However, running a marathon is hard; all that sweating, the tired limbs, the bleary eyes, having to wee on the street… A ten-stone runner could burn 2,000 calories during those 26.2 miles. That’s not really our vibe.
Conveniently, the team at the Evening Standard have worked out how to give us a marathon runner’s view of London without the exhaustion. The newspaper sent two cyclists on bike-mounted camera on the route round the city. The result is this three-minute time-lapse video.
