There’s much work afoot at Broadgate Circle (near Liverpool Street station) at the moment. After a bit of a remodel to open up this City development, it’s now more of a proper eating and drinking destination. A huge awning currently fills the central circle, covering benches and tables, where you can help yourself to a seat for lunch or afterwork-drinks from one of the adjoining bars; definitely more alfresco than al desko. On the periphery you can buy food from some street food vans – Cheeky Burgers, My Pie and Suzette. A handful of new restaurants are already up and running too, including an Aussie-style caff called Beany Green, and branches of Shoryu, Franco Manca, The Botanist and Aubaine. But the really hot restaurants haven’t opened yet, namely José Pizarro and Yauatcha City – the latter occupies the top tier of the concrete wedding cake that is Broadgate Circle.
