Get a free cab ride to the polling station today

After months of talk about the General Election, polling day is finally here. Now all you have to worry about is getting yourself down to the polling station and then we can all stop talking about it. The polls are open until 10pm today and if you didn’t fancy getting up early before work this morning, then you’ll probably be hitting the post-work poll slot. To help Londoners swiftly cast their vote, taxi app Hailo is offering Londoners free rides to polling stations from 7pm – 8pm. Of course, there are a couple of catches in the full terms and conditions – cabs are free up to £15 but you’ll have to shell out for anything above that and, since the whole thing is a ploy to promote the company’s new in-app pre-book feature, you’ll need to book your cab in advance rather than hailo-ing one on the spot. But marketing scheme or not, it beats battling your way to the polls on the tube.
