There’s no denying that London’s housing crisis ain’t getting any better. On the plus side, Londoners are trying to do something about it. Hot off the heels of a protest against gentrification in Brixton last month, campaign groups in Barnet are holding a protest against evictions and demolitions in the area tomorrow (May 13) at Hendon Town Hall where Barnet Council will be holding its annual general conference. The two groups, Our West Hendon and Sweets Way Resists, have each started petitions that have clocked up nearly 200,000 signatures between them, which they plan to present to Barnet Council leader Richard Cornelius. Find out more about the protest or show your support by signing the two petitions on change.org here and here.
