Cyclists of London, rejoice! The Boris Bikes have finally joined the twenty-first century and now have a dedicated app, which will make it a whole lot easier to hop on one of the recently rebranded Santander Cycles. The free app, which is available for iPhone and Android users, allows cyclists to view their nearest docking station, check bike availability and plan a journey. It’s got handy features for both hardcore Boris Bike-users and those who fancy the occasional ride, as you can buy both annual and 24 hour subscriptions.

To save you faffing about with your bank card at the docking station, you can pay through the app and you’ll be given a code to enter at the docking point, which is valid for ten minutes. Although the app doesn’t exactly let you reserve a bike, if you rock up to an empty docking station it will let you use the code at another station and you won’t be charged until you use it. Find out more about all things Boris Bike-related here.

Download it now for iPhone and Android.
