A can of Coke or a KitKat Chunky is usually about as exciting as it gets when it comes to vending machine purchases. But now you can buy actual art from a vending machine in the Fox pub on Kingsland Road in Haggerston. The Vending Machine Art Gallery is showcasing the work of 40 artists, with a run of 50 prints of each piece. The prices are slightly steeper than a packet of McCoy’s, but still pretty reasonable with a range of artwork priced £5-£20. The idea is to make it easier for people to buy art who aren’t, y’know, millionaires. Plus it has the added bonus of being in a pub, so you can get boozy and accidentally spend all your money on vending machine art – and you can’t do that at the Tate, can you?

The Vending Machine Art Gallery will be on until June 11 at the Fox pub, 372 Kingsland Road, E8 4DA.
