North Londoners like being kept in the dark

Like a gaggle of vampires with Range Rovers, locals in posh north London enclave Dartmouth Park are waging a war on light in an effort to protect their night skies. An advisory committee of residents and conservationists has told Camden Council that it considers the area to be ‘semi-rural’ and that the ‘quality of darkness’ must be protected at all costs. It’s even gone so far as to try and stop people installing skylights. It all sounds a bit shady.
