Lady Leshurr

Big stars and arena shows are great, but the best thing about the London music scene is that there’s great stuff going on all over the city every night – and most of it won’t cost much at all. Here are five great gigs this week that won’t cost you more than a handful of change.

North

Lady Leshurr at Barfly

The whip-smart MC from Birmingham demonstrates her clever wordplay and part-spoken, part-sung flow. Tuesday June 2. £8.

Central

Oscar at The Social

Rising bedroom-pop star Oscar Scheller and his band bash out joyous tuneage to kickstart your summer. Tuesday June 2. Free.

East

The Bohicas at Oslo

Playing fuzzy but highly polished indie rock, this slick, leather-clad new four-piece from east London and Essex are rising fast. Thursday June 4. £8.

West

The Age Of LUNA at Notting Hill Arts Club

Ultra-cool, low-riding, old-school hip hop by four young Londoners. This is seriously sweet and soulful stuff. Thursday June 4. £8.

South

The Catenary Wires at Canterbury Arms

Twee-pop power couple Amelia Fletcher and Rob Pursey (Talulah Gosh/Heavenly) launch their new project. Friday June 5. £6.
