Our mates at LondOntheInside have rounded up five things they’re pretty damn excited about this month.

The London Riviera, South Bank, opens June 1

‘When the sunshine hits, we’re all about holiday vibes, which is why we’re hot-footing it down to the Riviera. The London Riviera that is, where you’ll find Cîroc pineapple cocktails, Middle Eastern food, giant palm trees, pink flamingos, pineapples and day beds. Did we mention the GIANT pineapples? Cheaper and probably less hassle than a Ryanair flight.’

Check on 2

50 percent off Check On pop-up
, Cat & Mutton, kicks off June 1

‘Serial popper uppers Check On are in residence at one of our fave east London boozers this month, serving up their usual menu (yes, it includes THAT egg and soldiers dessert) and if you’re fast enough there’s 50 percent off for the first three days when you book here: miriam@thecolumbogroup.com. Your bank balance can thank us later.’

Slides

Carsten Holler – ‘Decision’
, Southbank Centre, opens June 10

‘The Carsten Holler slide has us virtually weeing in excitement. Obviously the intentions behind this monumental exhibition are far deeper than that – there’s also flying mushrooms, moving beds, a ceiling-mounted timepiece dropping over one million pills and of course the slide gaining you access to the start of your journey.’

British Summer Time, Hyde Park, June 18

‘There’s no knocking the line-up for this year’s British Summertime gigs in Hyde Park. NYC’s very finest will be kicking off the series on June 18. That’s right – The Strokes are playing London.’

egg

Egg Break
, Notting Hill, opens end of June

‘Egg-cellent news for west Londoners. Egg Break opens its doors this month with a menu serving all things egg (the clue’s in the name!). We’re all about the fried chicken bap with egg, green tomato, red onion and mayo. Or do we go for the pork belly, sausage, egg and sriracha mayo bap? Decisions, decisions.’
