If you often find yourself bursting for a wee and running around London in search of the elusive public toilets, then we’ve got good news for you: there’s now an app that can find the nearest toilet to you so you won’t have to wee on the street. Woop!

The City of London Corporation has created the City Toilet Finder app, which finds the nearest toilets within the Square Mile. As well as bog standard public toilets, it also includes restaurants, shops and pubs that have signed up to the community toilet scheme, which lets the public use their toilets for free so you won’t have to stealthily nip into a Wetherspoons and pretend you’re just looking for your friends as you desperately search for the toilet sign.

The app uses your camera and GPS to create a kind of virtual reality toilet world where you can walk around looking at the streets through your phone and toilets will pop up with their location and distance, which counts down as you walk towards it. You can also view by map, view specific facilities at each location and leave reviews, if you’re that way inclined. The one downside is it only works within the boundaries of the City of London, so if you’re out in Brixton and nature calls – you’re on your own.

Download the app on Android or Apple
