Estate agents love a garage conversion: so it’s no surprise to see them trampling over dance music history by turning The Elephant and Castle pub – birthplace of UK Garage – into a branch of Foxtons. Back in the early 1990s the old-timey south London boozer was home to Happy Days, the legendary post-Ministry sunday party where Matt Jam Lamont first played ‘Feel My Love’ and invented a whole new genre. But now, now it’s a bloody estate agents. Can we get a reeewind?
