These days we’re busy desperately searching for good-news stories about cool London stuff being saved, instead of being mercilessly torn down, so we’re happy to tell you that London’s lovely floating bookshop, Word on the Water, is here to stay. It was announced last Friday that the Canal & River Trust have invited them to take up permanent residence on the steps at Granary Square in King’s Cross. Hooray! After losing their previous mooring in Paddington Basin last year, owners Paddy Screech and Jonathan Privett had to keep relocating to temporary spots every two weeks and were worried they’d never find a permanent home. Good work C&RT. Head down to see them at their new home.
