Five lovely places to drink outside in London

Posted at 3:01 pm, June 13, 2015 in Food & Drink

Primrose Hill

North

Primrose Hill

The grassy summit of this well-heeled enclave is a top spot to neck something fizzy straight from the bottle. Plus, local fish and chip maestros Poppies will even deliver straight to your picnic blanket!

West

The Crabtree

The Crabtree, Fulham

A pleasingly posh Victorian boozer between Hammersmith and Putney bridges with a gorgeous, gigantic beer garden, which flows down to the riverfront. It’s really rather lovely, if truth be told.

East

Flamingo Pier

Flamingo Pier, Hackney Wick

A tropical canal-side pop-up, where the vibes are sunny and the beats are pumping. Crisp lager, bespoke cocktails and themed nights evoke golden sands and crystal waters. Or, at least, help you ignore the scuzziness of the River Lea.

South

Scooterworks, Primrose Hill

Get spannered at this former scooter repair shop. A stack of board games and a nice line in wellpriced beer and cider ensure you probably won’t scoot in a hurry.

Central

London Wonderground

London Wonderground, Southbank

You’re not allowed to drink on the London Underground anymore but London Wonderground is all in favour of it. Sip cider amid the carnival atmosphere at this open-air escape.
