Feeling a bit hot and flustered right now? Here’s one solution: get into your bathers and fling yourself down a dramatic 100-metre water slide, just behind King’s Cross station. Rise and Slide is a temporary installation, the latest nutty promo to target Londoners’ love of all things slightly barmy, and it will be in situ for just two days (Fri Jun 19, 7.30am–7pm and Sat Jun 20, 9am–9pm). The fun starts early – so why not use the slide as an exhilarating alternative to your morning shower?

Sign up now for the chance to bag free tickets on the Be a Day Breaker website – they’ll be allocated on Wednesday June 17. BYO water wings –  and Carsten Höller, eat your heart out.

King’s Boulevard, N1C 4TB. King’s Cross tube.

Want to cool down now? Try one of our favourite outdoor lidos and swimming pools.
