We told you back in March that the beloved vegetarian restaurant Food for Thought was set to close after 40 years. I’m sorry to say that the end date is fast approaching – the last slice of quiche will be served this Sunday June 21. When I wrote that original blog, I thought perhaps I was the only one who would mourn this Covent Garden institution, but I was wrong. 57,000 people read the post and over 16,000 of you liked and shared it on Facebook. It seems that I was not alone in my love for this veggie stalwart. And I know I won’t be alone in having made multiple pilgrimages there since I found out it was closing (and not reopening elsewhere).
But now there’s only a few days left to savour the salads, delight in the daily specials and snaffle the scrunch desert, so I urge you all to go go go! Let’s give them the great send off they deserve. Fingers crossed a new cheap, tasty and healthy non-chain lunching spot will spring up to fill the veg void. We’re going to miss you Food for Thought, thanks for all the good times.
