Four ways you can help DIY Space create a new London community centre

Wouldn’t it be lovely if London had one big community centre where people could host or go to gigs, meetings, exhibitions and more? It would! Which is why DIY Space For London has been tirelessly fundraising since 2012 to build one. The group recently acquired a 3,000-square foot warehouse just off Old Kent Road and now they need your help to turn their vision into a reality. Here’s how to get involved:

1. Become a member

This is a great way to help DSFL raise the building funds as it’s only £2 a year to join and you’ll be entitled to vote on future developments.

2. Host a fundraiser

A bunch of Londoners have already hosted and performed at gigs, talks and screenings to raise money for DSFL, but you could also try the traditional angle of bake sales and runs.

3. Get hands-on

Have you got the skills to pay the DSFL bills? Then volunteer to help build, project manage, plumb, wire and more. Or if you’re constructionally challenged, you can always help once the place is up and running by hosting events there, cleaning, or working the bar, tills and sound desk.

4. Donate

If you want to help but don’t want to get involved, then make a no-strings donation.
