If you were cruising through the West End on Saturday June 9, you may well have caught an eyeful of cyclists stripping off and taking to the streets to protest against our dependency on oil and cars. Luckily, the weather was on their side otherwise there could have been some serious colds caught. If you didn’t catch a glimpse of this political spectacle, here are a few photos of what you missed…

Most cyclists would probably acknowledge that they hate taxis. But how many feel such bubbling venom that they would commit to a lifetime of short-wearing and make their body into a permanent billboard. I wonder if this plucky chap is braving the cold weather and continuing to spread his message on these snowy days? Also, how would this angry tat go down in other social situations such as taking your kids swimming, family BBQs or when taking a desperate late night cab home? Let’s hope he has some emergency jeans to cover his rage…thanks to Clare Richard.

Now they’re casting their eyes and twinkle toes eastwards with a pop-up gym at hipster central Netil House in London Fields (to March 1). If you’ve already got a Frame card (a bit like an oyster card, but for cardio) classes are £8; if you just want to drop in, classes are £10.  The timetable features the best bits of Frame’s Shoreditch line up of classes, plus a gloriously ridiculous sounding Jane Fonda tribute class. If you’re one of the few in this Hackney hotbed of lazy freelancers that make it out of the door before 10am, you’ll be treated with an extra class for free in their pre 11am offer.

The year ahead promises much drama of its own (with the mayoral election in May and the Olympics in July for starters) but in the meantime here are some standout images from an unforgettable 12 months.
