We are very pleased to hear that director Tim Burton (‘Alice in Wonderland’, ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’) has decided to return to his roots. Quite literally. Next year, Burton will deliver to cinemas a claymation, feature-length remake of his brilliant 1984 live-action short, ‘Frankenweenie’, and we’ve got three early images from the film to show how it’s progressing. It’s that classic story of a boy whose beloved dog, Sparky, is killed by a passing car, and so he hatches a plan involving a kite, some electrodes and a lightning storm to bring his mutt back to life. The film is currently in production at Three Mills Studios in east London, and is set to arrive in UK cinemas on October 5 2012.
