Zoe Margolis (above), a writer and blogger who writes candidly about her sex life, has organised a charity comedy event at Bloomsbury Theatre on January 13 to publicise the issues surrounding sex education. ‘Sex Appeal’ will be hosted by Al Murray with a line up including David Baddiel, Robin Ince, Jay Rayner, Shappi Khorsandi. Margolis hopes that the event will draw attention to the ‘slow erosion of sex education’ in Britain, and mobilise people to oppose Nadine Dorris’ ‘abstinence bill’, which has its second reading on January 20. If passed, it would require schools to provide mandatory teaching of abstinence from sexual activity – to 13-16 year old girls only – as part of sex education. All money raised will be donated to Brook, providers of free confidential sexual health advice to young people and whom Margolis is an ambassador for. Will Coldwell
