Explore the darker side of love
If you think love is all a bed of thornless roses, perhaps you should look away now because ‘What is love?’ salon is taking a long hard look at the darker side of the L word. In a night of talks and poetry on February 7, Lisa Appignanesi, author of ‘Love: An Anatomy of an Unruly Emotion’, screenwriter John Foster, and punk poet Salena Godden (once described by Kerrang magazine as ‘everything the Daily Mail fears’) explore a more complex, despondent and honest view of love against the darkly brooding background of the gothic Westbourne Grove Church. A welcome relief from all this Valentine’s malarky. Dress code: Dark and brooding, of course.
