Tooting Zine Fair

A good fanzine is a treat and a very welcome break from all this online malarky and there will be all manner of lovingly handmade literature on offer at the Construction Gallery this Saturday February 25 which will be hosting Tooting’s first zine fair. There will be an eclectic selection of local and global artists showcasing their finest fanzines, artists books, illustrations, comics and writing. The event’s co-creators, Tooting-based artists Hamja Ahsan and Sowfia Niazi (part of the Other Asias and Walrus Zines respectively), have been instrumental in bringing zine subculture to their local area in a bid to address the lack of arts and events in Tooting. There’ll also be workshops, exhibitions, animations and video screenings throughout the day. What a refreshing break from staring at your computer screen. Didi Mae Hand
