There are few places in the capital where you can see big-name musicians on pub-sized soundsystems but The Lock Tavern in Camden has, despite its diminutive size, always been the leader of the pack. An all-day Sunday party there is a rite of passage for London clubbers – who hasn’t tried to hold down one of their Sunday roasts while bouncing around to music from Erol Alkan and Simian Mobile Disco? – and it continues to attract some of the most exciting bands and electronic producers to this day. In celebration of this ten-year milestone, they’re throwing a month’s worth of parties across the whole of May, from a launch party for Field Day and guest DJ sets from Wild Beasts and Metronomy’s Olubenga this weekend, to shindigs from the likes of RBMA and FACT, Sunday Best and Kill Em All as the month goes on. And the best bit? Another pioneering Lock Tav policy: entry is and always will be free. Kate Hutchinson
