Food for thought at Ideas for Breakfast

Get your geek on while remaining unquestionably cool at one of W London’s monthly talks. The ever-trendy hotel’s Ideas For Breakfast series sees fashion, design and music innovators talk about their subject while us less innovative folk munch on a croissant, glug down some juice and hope that some of their wisdom seeps in. We’re particularly hoping to glean some knowledge from Archivist magazine founders Jane Howard and Michael Harrison who are pitching up (on September 9) to talk about the archive collections of great designers, fashion waste and our consumer society.

On August 19, musician and sound artist Mr Underwood will be discussing his recent Sonic Graffiti project whilst offering attendees the chance to have a tinker themselves. On October 14, Miss J of fashion and lifestyle blog The Bijoux Editrix will be talking about how fashion trends are created and how they gather steam; while on November 11 arts collective Jotta, techy textile experts Future Materials and designer Amy Pliszka (work pictured above) will talk about urban beekeeping, and how to make textile beehives. The talks are taking place in the W’s plush screening room and cost a reasonable £25, including a continental breakfast.
