Who could forget the great panda invasion of London? Well, if you have then let us refresh your memory. Back in July, hundreds of the monochrome cuddly beasts descended onto the streets of London to help raise awareness of the Chengdu Research Base and the Pambassador programme. The aim? Making people more conscious of their impact on the natural environment and endangered species everywhere. It’s now time for the next stage of the Pambassador programme and you are invited, nay, encouraged to take part.
If you want the chance to visit the hometown of giant pandas – Chengdu – and work hands on with the endangered animals, head to the Pandaquest app via their Facebook page and start your very own campaign. Participants are required to make a profile, customise their page and then obtain ‘panda hugs’ to be in with a chance to be crowned ‘Chengdu Pambassador 2012’. There are three stages to the programme and the first concludes on September 28 so it’s time to get your entries in or vote for your favourite Pambassador – let’s get a Londoner in now!
