LondonOnTheInside’s top 5 events to get you through December

@LondonOnTheInside's top 5 December recommendations

Wow, how is it suddenly December?! Yes we might be freezing our toes off but there’s lots of good stuff to look forward to (and eat) this month, and that’s before we even start thinking about turkey. Our pals at LondOntheInside have picked out a few things they’re most looking forward to this month to get you started…

Meat Mission
Hoxton Market, opens mid-Dec
‘There’s no denying that Meat Liquor burgers rock, which is why we’re uber excited to hear about their plans for a new east London location. Meat Mission is set to offer all the usual meaty goodies, from juicy burgers to deep fried pickles and onion rings, only this time it’s based in Hoxton and it will take reservations! Christmas has come early.’

Patron Tequila Naughty and Nice
House of Wolf,  Dec 4
‘We can’t wait to pop along to the Patron Tequila Naughty and Nice pop-up. Not only are we dying to find out if we’ve been naughty or nice this year, but this pop-up also promises hidden rooms, fortune tellers, canapés from the crazy cats at Blanch & Shock and some extremely naughty Tequila cocktails. Oh and a 3am finish on a school night. It’s going to be wild, and all for £20 too!’

Winter Wonderland
Old Vic Tunnels, until 23 Dec
‘If we had to choose one festive thing to do this December then Winter Wonderland at the Old Vic Tunnels would be it. Those geniuses at Everyman cinemas have something quite spectacular below the streets of London town with a volcanic lake, northern lights installation, snow-capped cinema set in an alpine forest, log cabin bars and stalls selling alpine bratwurst, mulled wine and hot cider. Seriously, what more do you need? We’ll be there to catch screenings of ‘Home Alone’ and ‘The Goonies’. Did we mention the volcanic lake?’

Electric Brasserie
Opens 3 Dec
‘The Electric Brasserie has risen from the ashes and it’s bigger and better than ever before! There is a new chef at the helm who will be knocking up a French-American menu which features dishes like fried house-made bologna sandwich and honey-fried chicken. Not for the health conscious, which thankfully isn’t us. The drinks list is equally as impressive with 19 beers and cocktails like Horse’s Neck and the Pickle Back – Jamesons and pickle brine. It’s all about the pickle brine.’

The Former North London Mail Centre, 6 Dec – 9 Dec
‘We’re still big fans of the street food revolution and the scene just keeps on getting better! FEAST is a four day event which not only has some of the best food traders around, it also has the boys from Background Bars knocking out the drinks, music and a live experiment from Bompas and Parr. Oh and it’s indoors – take that winter weather! You’ll mainly find us at Anna Mae’s stall stuffing our faces with Piggie Smalls (mac ‘n’ cheese topped with pulled pork, pickled red onions and house made BBQ sauce). Banging!’
