Watch the first trailer for the Coen Brothers’ ‘Inside Llewyn Davis’

The Coen Brothers’ love for old-time music is well known (‘O Brother Where Art Thou’ kickstarted a major bluegrass revival which continues to this day). Their upcoming movie ‘Inside Llewyn Davis’ takes a leaf out of Bob Dylan’s back pages with the tale of a folk singer – the titular Davies, played by little-known Guatemalan-born character actor Oscar Isaac – who comes to Greenwich Village in the early ’60s with an acoustic guitar, a duffel coat and a dream. With Coens regular John Goodman playing a managerial type with more than a passing resemblance to Albert Grossman and Carey Mulligan in the folky-but-feisty Suze Rotolo role – not to mention old sand-and-glue himself providing the trailer’s soundtrack – signs are that the links to the Dylan story could be more than cosmetic.

Keep an eye on timeout.com/film for more info and reviews when the film comes out later this year.
