Camden’s long been famous (or infamous) for its pubs and pub crawls, so it’s only fitting that it’s the setting for this long-running annual beer and cider festival from March 6-8. Now in its 29th year, it’s organised by the good souls at Camra, who certainly know a thing or two about a decent pint. More than 150 real ales, ciders, perries and imported beers will feature, from new and old breweries in London and abroad. Old-fashioned tombola and table games are on hand to keep drinkers amused and – a bonus for those who hate crappy jukeboxes and the ding-ding of fruit machines – it’s a music-free event, the intention being that the conversation flows as freely as the booze.
