Want to learn more about wine, but don’t want to enrol on a full-blown budget-shattering course? Then try one of these wine-tasting events.
Marco Feraldi, sommelier at the St James Hotel & Club in Mayfair, is hosting an all-day event on June 8, showcasing more than 60 wines – a variety of countries, vintages and price ranges – with the chance to buy too. It costs just a tenner a head and there’s space for 100-150 people. But it’s still best to book in advance: 020 7316 1616 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Alternatively, Urban Cellar Door in Battersea is running a two-hour evening masterclass in English wine – increasingly rated, especially the sparkling sort – on June 12 and then roughly every two weeks throughout the summer. Tickets cost £25. Find out more details and book at copyandtaste.co.uk.
