Get your shoppers at the ready for an ethical rummage as Hackney holds a jumble sale revival this weekend. Front gardens will become forecourts, and the streets will be awash with stalls selling unused and unwanted treasures. Whether you’d rather paw through vintage accessories to spot the diamond in the rough, or redecorate with some recycled antiques or furniture,we’re hoping there will be some serious bargains on offer.
A downloadable map will plot the trail so that ‘X’ can mark the spot of each stall location, including a jumble fair inside Clapton Square and boats trading from the banks of the River Lea.
Coordinated by creative collective Unknown Variable, (in-the-know team including fashion producer Shoestring Stylist, graphic designer Tom Carwardine and artist-in-residence Oliver O’Keeffe), The Hackney Craft and Jumble Sale Trail promises to prove that you don’t have to spend loads of money to look super fly. The Hackney Craft and Jumble Sale Trail will take place on Sunday August 4, from 11-4pm throughout Hackney.
