Ever dreamed about setting up a food business? Whether it’s a pulled pork street cart, a Spanish churros and hot chocolate café or even a barbecue squirrel stall (good luck with that one), then you may just want to talk to the team at Kitchenette. This food-based business incubator for up-and-coming entrepreneurs has set up shop in a disused Islington garage for the summer to host a range of talks and demos. Speakers include Ed Dowding from eco-conscious FoodTrade on how to set up a sustainable food business, and Lisa Meyer of Yum Bun on how she moved her steamed-bun business from a street cart operation to a fully fledged shop in three years.
A protegé of the scheme, The Good Egg, will also be on site serving (all day) breakfast burritos, North African style eggs in a spiced tomato sauce (shakshuka), and plenty more cracking egg dishes. Book here (for £12).
