Ever fancied a piece of Pete Doherty’s lifestyle? Neither have we. But despite an obvious lack of market research, Doherty (aka the baddest boy in 2006) has turned his ‘talents’ to the retail industry with Camden-based shop Doherty Martin & Co Rag & Bone Collection. The store stocks various items belonging to the singer that are tenuously linked to his long-gone rock’n’roll lifestyle. We can hear Sir Phillip Green’s boots not quaking from here.
As chief salesman Doherty says of his stock, “All kinds of shit, basically.’ We think this is an accurate assessment. Conversely, if you’re in possession of a sadistic streak, bring some popcorn over and watch Doherty live the ‘don’t quit the day job’ dream. Be patient; there might be quite a queue. In other totally unrelated, irrelevant news, Pete’s band Babyshambles’ new album is out on 2nd September. And actually, we’ve heard it’s quite good. Jessica Zbinden-Webster
