Everyone loves old horror films, even if it’s because they tend to be more hilarious than terrifying. For a hefty dose of retro scares this Halloween, head down to Camden Lock Market on October 31, which will transformed into a three-day modern horror fest, courtesy of Backyard Cinema, who will be showing six zombie classics from recent times.
On October 31, the fest kicks off with the quirky ‘Zombieland’, followed by the less quirky (and more terrifying) 2013 remake of the classic ‘Evil Dead’. On November 1, it’s meta-horror ‘The Cabin in the Woods’ followed by the apocalyptic ’28 Days Later’, before ‘World War Z’ and the sinister 2013 release ‘I Spit On Your Grave’ on the final day.
Meanwhile, if you can avoid being bitten by the live action zombies infesting the courtyard and fight your way past the SWAT teams, then you’ll reach the haven of the screening room with a hefty supply of burgers and booze. Ally Swadling
