Long gone are the days when ‘arts and crafts’ belonged to the realms of knitting nanas and manic school kids wreaking havoc with felt and PVA glue. Just take a look at the Renegade Craft Fair, which debuted in Chicago in 2003 and has since spread across America and over the pond with its curated array of indie handmade treats.
If you’re a fan of online craft marketplaces like Etsy and Folksy, then you’ll want to be at Old Truman Brewery this weekend, where the third annual London Renegade Craft Fair will be opening up on November 9 and 10. From 11am-6pm, there will be over 100 makers from around the world (including 12 UK makers who Folksy have specially selected) selling a sparkling hoard of quirky and unique goods like jewellery, clothing, ceramics, stationery, posters, homewares and plush objects.
You’ll also have the chance to learn the tricks of the trade from the best at some of the workshops put on across the weekend, like lino stamp-carving, ornament-making, cross-stitching and hang-quilting. There’ll also be a free photo booth so you capture capture you, your friends and your finds.
Renegade Craft Fair takes place this weekend, November 9-10, 11am-6pm. For more info check out renegadecraft.com
