Half price meals at two of London’s newest restaurants

A ‘soft’ launch is when a restaurant opens its doors for business, but doesn’t charge full prices. The plus is that you can get a discounted meal (and try somewhere brand-spanking new), while they get to test out their chefs and waiters on real-life customers. It can be a pretty good deal – unless your experience is awful, in which case you’ll wish you’d waited to read Time Out’s review of the new restaurant first.

So, with the caveat that ‘discount’ is not always the same thing as ‘bargain’, here are a a couple of soft launches coming up. We can’t say if they’re good or not – yet – but we can at least guarantee that it’ll be friendlier on your wallet.

The Jones Family Project is a large Shoreditch restaurant with a please-all menu of food from all corners of the globe. Soft launch (50 percent off food): Thursday November 14 – Sunday 24 November. To book a soft launch table, please email reservations@jonesfamilyproject.co.uk

Boopshi’s describes itself as London’s first dedicated wiener schnitzel and spritz bar, inspired by the founders’ Austrian grandparents (they called their granny ‘Boopshi’). Soft launch (50 percent off food): Monday November 25 – Wednesday November 27. To book a soft launch table, email info@boopshis.com.
