There’s only one thing worse than an estate agent or a tax man at a dinner party, and that’s a wine bore. The kind of person who forgets that in spite of its variety, complexity and value, wine is not just to be analysed, but to be enjoyed. Preferably with good friends and good food.
If you think you’re this kind of wine fan, head down to the London Wine Sessions, a one-day ‘casual’ wine festival, designed to ‘show wine lovers a good time’ (their words, not ours) hosted by the people at Toast. There’ll be heaps of tastings, which double up as talks from talented sommeliers (such as Ruth Spivey) and wine experts (such as Tom ‘WineChap’ Harrow). There’ll be more wine from Sager & Wilde, plus food from the likes of Trullo. Daniel Willis of Clove Club is even coming to play records.
The Wine Sessions will be taking place on Saturday November 23, 11am-10pm at The Crypt on the Green, Clerkenwell
