We’ve all got a place in our heart for a film that’s so mind-bogglingly bad it actually becomes a work of cinematic art. Whether you’re a closet fan of the Cage (Nick of course) or get your kicks from Steven Seagal (not literally), you need to check out tonight’s Duke Mitchell Film Club’s annual April Fools special, a free night of entertaining yet tasteless works of cinema at Phoenix Arts Club.
For the main feature, the club’s experts have chosen the unanimously panned ‘The Singing Forest’, a tale of love, betrayal and reincarnation set in the midst of the Holocaust. What could possibly go wrong? A lot. For those that make it through the 69 minutes of vacuous visuals, there’s an additional short film of equal quality and the usual treats of trailers, music and cinema-based oddities on the theme of the unintentionally hilarious.
