Jo Ratcliffe’s Zoetrope
Art director and animator Jo Ratcliffe will be kicking off the festival unveiling the giant zoetrope she’s designed especially. Previous work has seen Jo draw and direct the animation featured in Lady Gaga’s Applause video, and on the opening day she’ll be leading action-packed activities for those at the front of the queue. Thursday April 24, 11am-5pm

Rob Flowers x Makerversity’s Monster Making Marathon
Expect freaky, toothy, hairy, scary creations from illustrator Rob Flowers who’ll be working with visitors at the festival, turning 2D monster designs into fully-formed 3D scarers. Collaborating with Makerversity, a dedicated workspace for nurturing start-ups and manufacturing businesses, the workshop will be bringing monsters to life. Friday April 25, 11am-9pm

Gemma Correll’s Pug Party
Along with most of London, Gemma Correll is obsessed with pugs. The cartoonist, illustrator and writer will be paying homage to the wrinkly-faced pooches, throwing a pug-drawing party to share her skills and passion with Pick Me Up visitors. Join Gemma for a day of sketching our beloved four-legged friends. Sunday April 27, from 11am- 5pm

Let’s Get Quizzical with Camberwell Press
Camberwell Press is crossing the river to bring a very special edition of Let’s Get Quizzical to the creative masses. The alternative pub quiz will include rounds on illustration, design, film and general knowledge, so get learning your sans-serif fonts and working on your team names. We’ve already bagsied ‘Kerning down the house’. Thursday May 1, 6pm-9pm

Mog- Judith Kerr

Judith Kerr in Conversation
Many of us will fondly remember reading the ‘Mog’ series and ‘The Tiger who came to Tea’ when we were young. If so, you’ll be very excited about this stand out talk with writer and illustrator Judith Kerr. The penultimate day of the festival will see Kerr in conversation with her long-term editor and designer Ian Craig talking about her illustrious career and latest picture book set due to hit the shops this year. There will also be ‘Tiger tea parties’ hosted throughout the day. Purrrfect. Sunday May 4, 2pm-3pm Book tickets here
