It may seem a tad ironic as the full-to-bursting No 73 sails past your outstretched Oyster card every morning, but 2014 is officially the ‘Year of the Bus’. The TfL campaign is an effort to give London’s bus network some much-deserved love and respect.
This year also marks the sixtieth anniversary of the original Routemaster bus, and this Sunday May 18, TfL is teaming up with charity music festival Oxjam to celebrate with Bus Jam: nine top artists – including Laura Mvula, Eugene McGuiness, Ghetts and Zara McFarlane – performing intimate shows on board one of London’s new generation of Routemaster-inspired buses, in three different locations across the city: Shoreditch, central London and Camden.
Hang on bus fans, there’s one catch. The gigs are for competition winners only, but if you want to get a place at Bus Jam, you’re in luck: we’ve got two pairs of tickets for each stop to give away.
Visit timeout.com/busjam to be in with a chance of winning and to see the full timetable of who’s playing at each stop. All aboard!
