Think of the great wine-growing regions of the world and you picture the rolling hills of Beaujolais, the sumptuous valleys of northern California, the arid beauty of Australia. You don’t think of Enfield. But that may all be about to change, because a community vineyard in the north London borough has just won funding and business advice to help it expand. Forty Hall Community Vineyard nabbed the cash thanks to the Urban Food Routes organisation. ‘O, for a draught of vintage!’ wrote former Enfield resident John Keats. He should have stuck around.
