It’s that time again – time to dance away your troubles and any spare energy you have left after the working week in London’s glistening oasis of amazing clubs. As ever, there are loads of top parties happening this weekend, with something to suit everyone, including the three nuggets we’ve picked out below. Renegade radio station and record label Rinse FM celebrates 20 years of banging tunes and top beats at Fabric tonight. You really should join them, as the roster they’ve brought with them is immense: garage god Todd Edwards, Rinse architect Slimzee, So Solid Crew’s Lisa Maffia and many more in Room One, while Room Two is all about the golden grime: Princess Nokia, Darq E Freaker, Visionist, Marcus Nasty and Faze Miyake all contribute.
If your musical preferences point even slightly towards the underground, there’s a good chance you’ll dig the work of the Bloc crew, who have hosted some of the finest left field DJs and producers from a range of scenes over the years. Tonight they salute their roots with a showcase from contemporary warrior Shed. His name may bring to mind images of drab garden furniture rather than wild raves, but rest assured, this pro will tear up Hackney Wick’s Autumn Street Studios with his tough, stomping tunes. Further fearsome techno comes from the producer pairing of Function and Inland, plus rising vibes from Alex Coulton and Rubin. More than enough underground beats and bleeps to knock your grateful block off.
This new monthly Sunday party at vast Greenwich club Studio 338 looks to be the perfect reason to get out of bed at a reasonable-ish hour on Sundays. The organisers are going all out and setting the bar high, hoping to make a big mark on Sunday clubbing with a roster of heavyweight house, disco and techno DJs, plus live visuals and performers to add to the festival-like atmosphere. Today’s launch features hugely popular French producer of rolling, minimal house Dyed Soundorom plus tech-house dons Audiofly and UK beat-maestro wAFF. Friday and Saturday, your days could be numbered.
