As if we didn’t have enough to worry about with deadly banana spiders, now we’ve all got to be on the look out as, not to alarm you or anything, but THE STINK BUGS ARE COMING! Yes, the smelly marmorated stink bug native to Japan, China and Taiwan, is making its pungent way over, after ponging out America.
The bugs, which measure around half an inch long and reek of rotting rubbish, have already been seen in Switzerland and France and now entemologist Max Barclay of London’s Natural History Museum has said: ‘I think the brown marmorated stink bug will establish a population here. It is only a matter of time. It will make its presence felt fairly quickly because it comes into people’s homes in the autumn and winter.’ Oh great. Thanks for that good news, Max. Happy Christmas to you too.
