You’ve probably already heard about the sudden closure of Madame Jojo’s in Soho, home for over 50 years to all sorts of illicit fun. Well, if you’re looking for a way to vent your anguish about the death of yet another of London’s quirky nightlife venues then you can join in with a ‘Peace Party Procession and Vigil’ tomorrow.
Meeting in Soho Square at 12.30pm, the vigil will process New Orleans-style to the club and lay a wreath at its door. Head down to say goodbye to one of London’s legendary venues – and if you really want to celebrate the legacy of Madame Jojo’s, the organisers say, then dress to impress: ‘Think black. Think veils. Think peace. Bring candles. Bring banners. It’s showtime!’
