Oyster Card

Happy new year, London! Unless your new year’s resolution is to buy a bike and cycle everywhere in this wonderful city, you may want to take a look at TfL’s fare changes for 2015 coming in to play on January 2. Here are the headlines:

The cost of using PAYG on London transport will be capped at a lower price

Contactless and Oyster cards are exactly the same price

Peak and off-peak caps no longer exist – the new system has a set cap for each zone

The cost of a seven-day travelcard has increased by somewhere between 2.2 and 2.5 percent

Single bus fares have increased by 5p

Single cash fares have gone up by 10p, or 20-30p for anyone travelling further than zone 5

Say farewell to those cheap and easy day travelcards, because they no longer exist. Noooo…
